
When the historic Clark Street Cadillac assembly plant in Detroit closed and was torn down, the “body drop” section of the plant, where bodies were mounted on chassis, was salvaged and installed as an exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum at General Motors’ expense. It’s still functional and a couple of times a year, at special events, the museum runs the drop.
