I took a great sounding dynamic element and mated it with a Neutrik impedance matching transformer, a smooth, high quality volume pot, a PureTone constant contact 1/4″ TS jack, and a lightweight 3D printed shell based on the classic Astatic JT30 bullet mic. The result is a harmonica microphone that sounds great, weighs much less than a traditional bullet mic, is comfortable in your hands when cupping a harp, looks pretty good, and is reasonably priced. I’m not saying that it’s going to replace your custom mic with a vintage crystal element, but it’s an inexpensive option to keep in your harmonica case.

The .44 looks good in the comparison. It produces about the same volume level as the Bulletini with perhaps a little less low midrange. The silver bullet has a hotter element, but the usable volume range before feedback isn’t any better. I think this mic offers very good value for money. The fact that the basic version looks good, sounds good, and feels good at under $100 makes it an excellent choice for a first harp mic that will be useful for years...
