Twenty-two Enterprises Recalled Over 280,000 Cars in 2006

Sun Bo, director of the quality management department of the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said that in 2006 there were 283,536 vehicles recalled nationwide by 22 auto enterprises, a large increase over the amount recalled last year. Sun Bo said during a national quality control and supervision conference that after regulations for auto recalls were enacted in March 2004, some features began to gradually emerge: the grade of autos recalled grew higher and higher, the technology and safety levels of vehicles have become noticeably upgraded and the amount of enterprises that are initiatively recalling vehicles is also increasing.
