DaimlerChrysler Says China Approves JV to Build Vans

DaimlerChrysler AG, the world's largest maker of commercial vehicles, said China's Ministry of Commerce approved a joint venture with China Motor Corp. to produce vans in China. DaimlerChrysler, China Motor and Fujian Motor Industry Group won permission for a 200-million euro ($265 million) venture that will make as many as 40,000 Mercedes-Benz vans a year, according to DaimlerChrysler's Beijing-based spokesman Trevor Hale.
